To be made whole, or to be saved, is to submit to God and His plan and purpose for our lives. It is a turning from and a turning toward. Turning from our old ways, our right to ourself, a life of sin. Turning to Jesus, making Him Lord of your life, asking Him for forgiveness from our sins and to give us new life in Him.
John 3:16 “For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9 says: “For if you publicly declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will experience salvation.”
Salvation is God’s free gift to us and we become His children. It is an irrevocable acceptance into the family of God and it is an empowerment to live life wholly and fully with the purpose of reflecting God to the rest of His creation.
If you are not sure whether you are right with God or you know in fact that you need Jesus in your life, you can choose to follow Him right now by praying a prayer of surrender to Jesus.
Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of your forgiveness and salvation. Forgive me of all my sins. Make me brand new. Wash me clean with Your blood. I believe Jesus died for me and rose again so I could live for you. Fill me with your Spirit so I could know you, serve you, and follow you the rest of my life. My life is not my own—today I give it to you. Thank you for new life! In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
